Patterns and colour. Charity shop haul!

Today is my day off this week and it is also my Mum and Dad's day off too which is really exciting because we hardly ever get a day together all 3 of us so we decided to go to Sheringham which is a nearby seaside town :) I thought it would give me chance to get some charity shop bits and it did! It has about 6 charity shops I think, and some were full of loads of goodies! My parents did well in them! Getting shoes, jeans, hat, gloves, jacket, and a shirt!
I was pretty impressed with my purchases too!

I got:
1 tweed like blazer originally from H&M for £4.95
1 patterned woolen scarf for £1.99
1 patterned silk like scarf for £2.00
1 blue jumper from F&F for £4.99

I find charity shops a good way to make risks with clothing, buying things you wouldn't normally buy! I always look at other people in tweed and I think it looks gorgeous but I would never have got a tweed patterned blazer full price I don't think, but this way I figured if I didn't like it, it was less than a fiver, and I gave to charity but I do like it! It's a size above what I usually am so I can layer under it if I choose :) It also has elbow patches which are cute, and really adds to the posh factor...

The scarf I picked up is really cute too. Tartan and checked patterns are really in atm and I have a tartan scarf but it's not woolen and it's quite long! I have been after a short one that I don't have to wrap around, for quite a while and this one is the perfect length and also goes with my blazer!

I have a bit of an obsession with scarves and have quite a few! I really need to start wearing them all.. I just get excited about the patterns and saw this one and thought it was super duper cute and the colours are lovely, I also like how the main colour is white as I have quite a few dark ones!

The last thing I picked up was the blue jumper in the photo! It's woolen and super soft and really comfortable, I like it with just leggings because it's kind of a thrown on outfit but because of the colour and texture it's like you have made more effort than you have! The scarf also looks super cute with it! What a comfy purchase :)

More photos...

What a good day :) xx

Bargains for a pound

So today I went to Norwich with Matt and had planned to do some proper charity shop shopping but alas I did not find anything, and I didn't want to buy for the sake of it. I have been ordering some charity shop bargains of ebay recently though, so you shall get a blogpost about them soon. Today did get better though as I went into Poundland, probably one of my favourite shops and got some bits and also Newlook had a pretty good jewellery sale so I got loads of cracking things for a pound! I don't buy jewellery much, if I do it's usually a long necklace with a cute charm on but I thought I would try some big earrings out and also got a packet of rings which weren't in the sale, but it was a pack of 7 for £5 so not too bad...

I thought these earrings were really cute, quite simple but the pearls make a really nice touch to them, I love pearls :D Also reminds me of the Deathly Hallows symbol a little..

Another more simple pear of earrings but thought a cute peace sign would be a nice addition to an outfit! Embrace my inner hippy as it were..

Okay so these are a bit more extravagant and have a lot going on.. diamantes and a cameo in each but I thought if I had my hair up in a messy bun and was wearing something quite simple they may look quite pretty, and as they were only a pound I figured why not :)

Simple but detailed crosses, a bit oversized but I found them quite cute

All the rings that I got in the pack from Newlook for a fiver.. I won't be wearing them all together though! :P

Super pretty flowery one that I have on now! Super cute!

Little gold heart

Simple, may be one for everyday wear to get me into the habbit of wearing rings :)

a little cross and arrow :)

POUNDLAND BARGAINS.....

Cute hair clip, I have never bought one of these before, but figured as it's a pound and floral I should probably try it out.. will be handy when I just want to throw my hair up :)

Amazing lip balm by Blistex from Poundland! So good!

Lip stain! A lot of brands are doing this atm but I thought I would get one from Poundland to try it out... it's like a felt tip for your lips and then a balm on the other end to go over it and make it shiny, I quite like it!

Oops this one is from Newlook as well but I don't know how to move this photo so it can stay here :P a cute little burgundy beany from Newlook for a pound just because.. will be nice for them lazy rubbish hair days!

And an eyelash curler from Poundland because I have never had one ever... I know right..

So this was a bit picture heavy but I hope you have enjoyed my bargains :) I will be back soon with more charity stuff and a look book I will hopefully film tomorrow! Eeek a leek!

About me, random, LookBook video to come?

I haven't been able to do much charity shop shopping recently as I worked last Saturday and all this week apart from today! But I have no transport and I am a bit ill, so chilling inside it is! But I am hoping to be able to go to my faves in Norwich on Saturday,(Anglia Square/Magdalen Street for any people from the Norwich area..) Buuuuut because I have recently found out that you can buy charity shop items on Ebay! I have been doing it from the comfort of my own home! Which is exciting! It's super easy!
This is the link: www.pages.ebay.co.uk/ebayforcharity
You just search what you want to find, so for me I usually search my size and see what comes up! You can tell for sure that something is a charity item by seeing the little charity ribbon symbol next to the title :) There are also pages on there from famous charities like Sue Ryder and British Heart Foundation, some are new stuff! I actually purchased 3 cute little lunch boxes from sue ryder's ebay page today!
How cute are they?!?! :D
The only thing is, as I want all of my money to go to charity, you have to read in the descriptions because say that only 10% will.. and that is great really but as for my challenge, I have to keep looking further :) But as I'm a proper searcher, I am not bothered, it's fun :)

This is a bit of a random post about nothing in particular so I thought I would take this opportunity to write a bit about myself as some of you may only know that I am doing the charity shop challenge and that's pretty much it! Well..
My name is Katie, I am 21 years old and I currently live with my parents in North Norfolk. I did a Foundation degree at Wessex academy of performing arts where I studied FDA Performing Arts and got a 2:1 and went on to do a top up year in Winchester and got a 2:1 and graduated in 2013. I am working at Boots and have just started my new position as a trainee health care advisor. I have always been into 'blogging' and social networking from Piczo to Bebo to Facebook to Tumblr to Blogger to Instagram. I do not drive so I feel like I have recently lost a bit of independance and when I am not at work I need something to concentrate on and something to motivate me in some way, this is where the charity shop challenge came from. I have a boyfriend who I have been with for 2 and a bit years, he also lives in Norfolk and keeps me sane. Well yes this was a bit of a random post.. sorry for that guys..

Something possibly exciting.. I think I am going to try my first fashion blogger video on youtube! I am planning to show a lot of my charity shop buys in outfits and will be like a Lookbook.. although I have no idea how to edit videos :S
So yeah these blogs happen when I am bored..

Dressy dresses (charity shop buys)

So I haven't got a huge time to go charity shop shopping all the time because I work a lot during the week but I figured I would go to some on my lunch break, the ones that I went to the other day with Matt because I found some quite good stuff! So I did and I found 2 dresses in British Heart Foundation..

The first is velvet and is a skater style but with cut out sides. I have never owned anything velvet or anything cut out so it was a bit of a risky purchase! It's a bit loose but it's comfy and I feel really girly in it and it's my favourite go to colour! :D

Testing it out with my hat :)

Showing the cut out at the side. I have a red bra on in this picture and you can't really see it which is good! it's a little ill fitting at the top around my boobs and around the waist but still so comfy and pretty that I still really like it..

Hangin'

I like it with a necklace because as it's a bit ill fitting at the top it draws the attention away from the baggyness and it also looks pretty with my trusty zebra.

The next dress I got is super cute and less clubby like. It's more presentable and would possibly be better for a meal with the family, a wedding or a christening..
It's baby pink with black buttons, black collar, long sleeves and pleats at the bottom. It's super adorable. It's well fitted, a bit too much atm possibly, and I don't usually wear long sleeves in dresses but I thought it was really nice so I'll give it ago and think I will wear it for my niece's christening in April!

Pretty girly pleated bottom, makes me feel like someone from Heartbeat!

Ahhhh collar and buttons ahhhh cuteness overload :D

The velvet dress was £6.99 and the pink dress was £4.99 so a little expensive for charity shops but cheap if you think about buying them in normal shops! I was pretty happy with my lunch break purchases and plan to wear the velvet one tomorrow night as I'm going out after work :) So will take some more photos then, oh and sorry that my facial expressions in these photos are really weird..

3 tops for less than £11!

Today myself and Matthew decided to go to Norwich, our local city to do a bit of shopping. This was difficult for me as there were sales everywhere and I just wanted to grab everything but I did stop myself and only bought underwear from Topshop because I am not buying that from charity shops....
I then went to 3 charity shops that are located all together quite in the centre of the city which is really handy, although they are a bit more expensive than the ones in Norwich I usually go to they sometimes have some good stuff. I only found stuff I liked in one of the three but I did end up getting three things which is always good, and for less than £11 too!

I found this top and wasn't sure about it, I fell in love with the pattern and thought the old cars were so cute but wasn't sure about the shape or style of it, but then saw that it still had the label on it from Next showing that it was originally £28 and I got it for £5.49! I really like the bottom of it now that I have tried it on properly, think it's proper girly and cute.

Really goes with my red blazer which makes it look smart but quirky.

The next thing I found was a cute little simple white tank top shirt originally from H&M which I got for £3.49

It's really simple but I love sleeveless shirts and as this is white it will go with almost everything!

Ahhh my excitement of this print shvkgsahjvkasnvkas. Love!

The next thing I bought is probably my least favourite which doesn't mean I don't like it at all, just not as much as the first two. This one is originally from Primark but I only paid £1.99 I think. Just a simple sleeveless black tank top with little studs at the top.

Quite a successful Charity Shop trip me thinks!
